Please join us for our first Mental Wellness & Resiliency Night this school year. This event will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Murray High School from 5-7:50 pm.
Root’d Roadie Food Truck will be there with food available for purchase beginning at 5 pm, including a great selection of sliders and fries. We are delighted to have Jenny Howe, MS, CMHC, from Jenny Howe Consulting, host a parent seminar beginning at 6 pm. She will speak to families about the interplay between anxiety and school avoidance. If your student has difficulty coming to school because of anxiety or other related issues, Jenny will provide information on why that is and some tips to help your student navigate their experience.
We will host Mental Health Screenings from 5-6 pm and 7-7:30. MCSD has partnered with Terrace Metrics to provide anxiety and depression screeners to students in grades 3-12 with parent permission. Please sign up for a screening time here and bring your student Chromebook if possible. The screeners provide information about your students’ current mental health, alongside detailed descriptors of mental health warning signs and resources. Additionally, community mental health partners will be present as well to share their resources with families.
If you have questions about this event please contact Sierra Marsh, MCSD Prevention Coordinator at 801-264-7400.
