As many know, Friday is the LEAST attended day of the week district-wide. That plus penalties of tardiness rack up a lot of unnecessary rough education and yards of learning losses. So on November 8, Murray will merge Utah’s beloved Utah vs BYU rivalry with a one-day showdown aimed at game-changing attendance habits mixed with some fun!
This is pretty simple, so it shouldn’t disrupt our student’s daily playmaking. Before the epic gridiron showdown on Saturday, November 9, we’ll see which of Murray’s team’s of classrooms reign supreme on November 8. All students and staff are challenged to show their team spirit by dawning RED or BLUE colors. Once the bell signals the start of classes November 8, all students will cast their vote for BYU or Utah – if you’re late to the game you won’t be able to vote.
For the extra point, teachers will be instructed to track and report their team’s stats (attendance). The classrooms with the top scores will be entered into a drawing for each student to receive Crumbl Cookie, courtesy of our Murray Education Foundation’s partnership with Crumbl.
