Essential Duties:
- Have clear, attainable goals for the team and have an alignment of all aspects of the program to achieve those goals.
- Create and maintain an off-season program that will build a positive team culture, which includes: Strength/Conditioning program, team-building strategies, community service, academic success, etc.
- Communicate effectively to student-athletes, parents/guardians, faculty, admin, district personnel, and community using communication tools provided by the school/district.
- Establish clear roles for student-athletes, coaches, and parents. Be able to communicate effectively with athletes and parents promptly.
- Oversee football-related budgets, fundraising opportunities, and equipment related to the program.
- Connect with the community to build and maintain feeder programs and retain/recruit students at Murray High School.
- Coordinate with the Athletic Director on practice schedules, games schedules, and bus schedules, as well as having all coaches and players compliant with RMA/RMC.
- Hire quality assistant coaches and seek out professional development opportunities for coaches.
- Organize and have detailed practice plans to ensure student-athletes get the best coaching possible.
- Have the understanding and ability to apply HUDL product (film) and utilize it throughout your program with coaches and players. Have the desire and ability to apply to the football program Rack Performance (Weight Lifting Software)
Job Specifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.
Minimum Requirements: Experience as a head coach preferred, or five years as an assistant coach at the high school or college level. Must possess effective coaching knowledge, technique, and skill. Understand and apply rules, regulations, and changes as UHSAA adopts them. Applicants must have the following certification before the season begins: NFHS Trained or Coaching Endorsement, First Aid, CPR, and Concussion Training. A background check is also required.
This position may or may not include a licensed teaching assignment. Please indicate in your resume if you hold a Utah Educator License.
Salary Range: Stipend paid at the end of the season
