Clear Learning Ahead: Transparency in Education for Murray Families

At Murray City School District (MCSD), we believe in strong partnerships between our schools and families. A key part of this commitment is ensuring parents are well-informed about what their children are learning. New guidelines emphasize transparency, making it easier for you to stay connected with your student’s educational journey.
Keeping Elementary Parents in the Loop
For our elementary school families, teachers will now provide weekly updates on curricular goals and the materials being used in the classroom. This regular communication aims to give you a clear picture of what your child is learning each week. Should you wish to review any curricular materials not available digitally, a simple request to your school principal will facilitate access.
Secondary Curriculum at Your Fingertips
Parents of secondary students can expect ongoing communication from teachers, primarily through Canvas and curriculum maps. These tools are designed to keep you informed about the curriculum, upcoming assignments, and even feedback on your student’s work. We strongly encourage all secondary parents to sign up as a Canvas Parent Observer. This allows you to directly view your student’s learning progress. For any curricular materials not found online, your school principal is the contact for initial requests.
Our Shared Commitment to a Safe Environment
MCSD is dedicated to fostering a school climate free from harassment and discrimination. We urge you to report any such incidents to your school principal immediately. Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a safe and welcoming learning environment for every student.
