Murray Students Show School Spirit and Sportsmanship in BYU vs. Utah Challenge

The halls of Murray City School District were buzzing with excitement yesterday as students and staff celebrated the annual BYU vs. Utah Spirit and Attendance Challenge, proving that a little friendly rivalry makes for a great day of learning and fun!
In the spirit of the upcoming football showdown, students and staff embraced the challenge to Wear Red or Blue and Be Seen on October 17th. The main event was the classroom voting, which took place right after the morning bell, ensuring students were on time to cast their vote and voice their team pride.
The entire district demonstrated exceptional school spirit and fantastic sportsmanship throughout the day. While everyone enjoyed the fun of cheering on the Cougars or the Utes, the real contest was for on-time attendance. We are thrilled to announce that nine classes across the district came out on top this year, earning the coveted prize for having every student present and on time!
Sweet Victory Thanks to Crumbl Cookies
A huge thank you goes out to our generous sponsor, Crumbl Cookies, for providing a sweet reward for the winning classes! They enjoyed a special treat, thanks to Crumbl's commitment to supporting local education and encouraging positive school habits. Their sponsorship added an extra layer of excitement to the competition and made the victory even sweeter for the winners.
While only nine classes earned the delicious prize this year, the real winner was the atmosphere of energy and good sportsmanship that permeated every school. Whether students wore red, blue, or a mix of both, the day was a fantastic lesson in healthy competition and community spirit.
Thank you to all students, staff, and families for making it a fun day. A special shout out to our District Attendance Specialists, Brittany Roller, Erin Adams, and Kim Alexander, who work incredibly hard to create innovative and engaging opportunities for Murray students!
