Murray High School Gears Up for 2026-27 Fall Sports Season

As the dust settles on an incredible spring season, Murray High School is already looking toward the horizon. Athletic Director Brady Smith recently released the 2026-2027 Fall Sports Newsletter, celebrating a year of "remarkable grit" across the track, courts, and pitch while outlining the roadmap for the upcoming autumn campaign.
A Legacy of Excellence
The newsletter shines a bright light on the academic and athletic achievements of the Spartan community. Dozens of student-athletes were recognized for their leadership in both the classroom and competition. Notably, students like Bridger Davies (Swimming), Brinley Forsyth (Track/Basketball), and Easton Murray (Tennis) earned Academic All-State honors, while the "Spartan Strong" awards celebrated sportsmanship in programs ranging from Softball to Unified Track.
Preparing for the Fall
For parents and students in grades 9-12 looking to join the Spartan legacy this fall, the preparation begins now. Official practices and tryouts are scheduled to commence during the last week of July.
To be eligible for participation, families must navigate a few key requirements:
- Registration: All athletes must have a completed account on Register My Athlete (Aktivate) for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Physical Exams: A completed 4-page physical exam (Form A) must be uploaded to the registration portal. For convenience, local clinics like After Hours Medical ($25) and CareNow Urgent Care ($45) are offering walk-in sports physicals.
- Academic Standing: Students must provide a printed copy of their Term 4 report card at tryouts, maintaining at least a 2.0 GPA with no more than one "F".
Key Dates and Coaching Contacts
Summer is far from a break for Spartan athletes. Many programs, including Girls Soccer and Cross Country, will begin summer workouts and "team meet-ups" as early as June 1. Parents are strongly encouraged to join the Band App for their specific sport to receive real-time updates on schedules and info meetings.
